We are actively seeking a full-time, on-site Medical Assistant at our Bethel Park, PA location.
The Occupational Health Medical Assistant is a vital member of the healthcare team responsible for providing support and assistance to Occupational Health Physicians and Nurses in the delivery of high-quality occupational health services.
The role entails performing various administrative and clinical tasks to ensure the efficient operation of the occupational health department and the well-being of employees within the organization.
The individual will be responsible for the following tasks:
Clinical Support:
Assist Occupational Health Physicians and Nurses with patient care, including taking vital signs, documenting medical histories, and conducting preliminary assessments.
Administer basic medical treatments, such as dressing wounds, applying splints, and providing first aid as needed.
Conduct drug and alcohol testing for pre-employment, post-accident, and random screenings, adhering to established protocols and maintaining accurate records.
Perform basic vision and hearing tests, as well as spirometry and other occupational health-related assessments.
Assist with immunizations and maintain vaccination records.
Provide support during medical exams, ensuring a smooth patient flow.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee health records and confidentiality of medical information.
Schedule appointments, manage calendars, and coordinate medical exams for employees.
Oversee the inventory of medical supplies, ensuring that stock levels are adequate and ordering supplies when necessary.
Prepare medical reports, correspondence, and other documentation as required.
Handle medical billing and insurance-related tasks as needed.
Occupational Health Program Support:
Collaborate with the Occupational Health team to implement health and safety programs, training, and initiatives for employees.
Assist in organizing health and wellness events and seminars for employees.
Participate in workplace safety assessments and health hazard evaluations, contributing to risk mitigation strategies.
Compliance and Regulation:
Ensure compliance with applicable occupational health laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and maintain confidentiality of medical records and personal health information.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant training program preferred.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification.

years as a Medical Assistant.
Experience in Audiogram testing required.
Experience in PFT Pulmonary function tests (PFTs)/Spirometry required.
Prior experience in occupational health, urgent care, or similar clinical settings is advantageous.
Knowledge of medical terminology, basic clinical procedures, and medical documentation.
Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer applications.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated compassion, empathy, and professionalism in dealing with patients and colleague.
Preferred
Qualifications:
College degree in business administration 1
