Vice President of Sales and Marketing

The Vice President (VP) of Sales is responsible for maximizing revenues through the planning and management of sales activities for the entire sales group within the assigned Harris School Solutions Business Unit.
Primary Functions
The VP of Sales will provide leadership for the sales team by creating an environment in which they will be successful and achieve growth goals. You will have the ability to "model the way" for the sales team and work alongside them before and during the product presentation portion of the sales cycle.
What will be your impact?
Creating an environment of ongoing training and accountability to maximize sales performance of the team;
Generating new business and fostering relationships with current clients;
Managing, inspiring and leading the work effort of the sales representatives;
Ensuring sales metrics are met or exceeded, including P&L responsibilities for the department with monthly, quarterly and annual forecast predictability and accountability;
Collaborating with team members and leaders to improve the customer experience; and
Mastering the product portfolio in order to articulate value via presentations and proposals, ensuring solutions and services are aligned to client needs.
Qualifications
What are we looking for?
A track record of software sales experience
Ability to travel a minimum of 50% of the work week on average
Have a solid understanding of, and the ability to articulate a thorough understanding of the sales cycle and the ability to build a sales strategy around it
Passion to forge new sales channels and explore non-traditional uses for the current products being offered.
Desire to visit customers and attend sales calls and demos on a routine basis
Ability to coach and improve performance of the sales team when needed
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially effective listening and customer orientation mastery
What we would love to see?
Customer facing experience with state or local government/Public Sector or School Districts
Bachelor's degree strongly preferred; MBA a plus
Experience with Salesforce CRM

What we offer?
Salary will be commensurate with experience and job responsibilities. Harris offers excellent fringe benefits including a generous vacation policy and health, dental, life and disability insurance. (Overall Compensation Range: $120-140k)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
